Sammanfattning av Stone cold, week 20

Week 20: 

Link felt like London had lots of new opportunities. You invent your own past and call yourself anything you want and he had a plan. He wanted to get a job and a simple place to live in. He had 150pence and he found a place to live in for fifty a week but he regretted it. The place didn't have everything he wanted. He could have chosen a place with help service, a bed and maybe food as well. The next thing in his plan was to get a job. The first thing he did in the morning was to go to the job centre. They told him to go to the careers office since he wasn’t eighteen. He went around to different places and told some people his background story about Vince and his family. The guy told Link that it might take a few weeks. That sucked because Link only had his little room for 2 weeks. 

Shelter was in the city and he was about to talk to a homeless man. He squatted down to talk to the man and he also kept his fake smile on. The homeless man was freezing because it was really cold outside. He asked Shelter about who he was and Shelter lied, of course. Shelter told the man his real name but ha also said that he was working at the hostel for young people on Plender street. He said that the hostel was full at the moment but that the homeless man still could follow him home because he could sleep on his comfy couch. Shelter kept his fake smile on while they were walking down the streets together. He gave the homeless man some new clothes when they were inside and he also made tomato soup for dinner. The wasn't very cruel, right?

Link walked around in London everyday asking different places about a different jobs. He would take any job at this point but nobody wanted him. Everything about this lifestyle was so much harder than what he would have thought. The guy who owned the room he was living in wanted Link to pay the rent on Friday even though he had the room until Monday. Link didn’t want to do that so the guy kicked him out and that’s how he became a homeless kid on the streets.
